How do they happenEclipses form when a new moon intersects at nodes when the moon and sun are at the appropriate distance so that entire sun is blocked. Typically eclipses occur in the middle of the ocean due to their surface area in relation to the land mass of Earth.

Ways to View SafelySafety is Paramount when eclipse viewing. The best bang for the buck are definitely eclipse glasses. Be sure they are ISO rated.
Pinhole projectors, or telescopes with solar filters are also viable options. If the weather is particularly bad in your area, be sure you view some of the live streams that are sure to take place. |
